Caring for a family member who has Alzheimer’s disease is complicated, especially when the illness progresses and the patient’s health suffers even more. Seniors with Alzheimer’s disease deal with a lot, but can also have other health issues. It can also be difficult for them to leave their homes to get to doctor’s appointments. Home health care allows Alzheimer’s patients to get the medical care that they need to manage every aspect of their health.
Arcy Healthcare Brings Medical Assistance to the Patient
Arcy healthcare brings professional medical care right to patients in their homes. That care is provided by professional nurses, therapists, specialists, and home health aids. Providers work with the patient’s medical team to put plans together that meet the patient’s needs. Because they’re getting that care at home, Alzheimer’s patients are more likely to feel comfortable and secure. Seniors may still have to go to their doctor’s offices for some appointments, but home health care providers can also take care of checking vital signs, tracking health issues, and basically taking care of many of the reasons doctors would want to see seniors in person. In some cases, as when a person is on Arcy Supportive Care, the nurse comes to the home, eliminating the need to leave the house.
Benefits for Alzheimer’s Patients
People with Alzheimer’s disease tend to do better overall when they have a set routine that they can count on. Going to medical appointments really disrupts those routines and can cause extreme agitation and discomfort. Being able to stay in their home environment to receive medical care reduces anxiety and discomfort. Patients receive personalized care that is tailored to their needs and preferences. Family members are better able to stay involved in the care process, too, enabling them to feel more confident helping their seniors with medical needs.
Monitoring Health Conditions
Alzheimer’s patients are often at a higher risk of developing other health issues. They may be battling issues like high blood pressure or diabetes, but then they may also be facing acute health issues. Falls, infections, and other health problems all need the right care to help keep seniors healthy. Arcy Healthcare‘s providers can address these health concerns and stay on top of changes seniors might experience but be unable to mention.
Managing Medications
Medication management is important for all seniors. For seniors with Alzheimer’s disease, even one or two medications can be difficult to take properly. Nurses help to make sure that seniors with Alzheimer’s disease are taking their medications correctly and on time. They can also stay on top of whether medications could interact, reducing the risk that seniors might experience complicated side effects.
Offering Specialized Therapies
Alzheimer’s patients often benefit from a variety of different types of therapies like occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy. These focus on helping patients with communication skills, swallowing, mobility, and so much more. Home health care coordinates these different specialists, making it easier for Alzheimer’s patients to get the medical assistance they need.
When Alzheimer’s patients need medical care, health care at home can simplify the entire process for families and patients alike. This type of care allows families to spend quality time with the seniors they love and ensure that they’re getting the best possible care and remaining comfortable at the same time.

My name is Jimmie Stapleton. I am the founder and CEO of Arcy Healthcare. Arcy Healthcare includes Arcy Hospice, Arcy Supportive Care, MaximaCare Home Health and Arcy at Home.
Arcy Hospice was opened in 2007 to provide care and support for individuals and families facing a life limiting illness. It was established after my wife Ellen, who had been diagnosed with breast cancer, had completed her chemo and radiation therapies. At that time, things were looking positive, and we wanted to do something for our community that had been so supportive of our family during her treatments. Unfortunately, the cancer returned a few years later, and she subsequently passed away under our care in 2010.
In the years that followed, I began to see the need to provide the same level of excellent care to patients across the continuum of care. Therefore, we have added a home health division (MaximaCare Home Health), a palliative care division (Arcy Supportive Care), and a home care division, (Arcy at Home). With the addition of these divisions, we can meet most of the post-acute care needs for you and your family in your home.
I started Arcy Hospice with my wife as my motivation to provide exceptional care and support in the patient’s home, where they are surrounded by family and where they feel most comfortable. I’m proud to say that our staff provides some of the best in home care in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
Please let us know if we can enrich the quality of life for you or a loved one.
Sincerely,
Jimmie Stapleton – Founder and CEO
