#2 Most Common Hospice Diagnosis: Alzheimer’s

Coming Soon – 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer’s

For the past few years, Arcy’s Army has walked to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s Disease and the challenges to those who are living with it.  We look forward to this year’s walk, in a little over a week.

In hospice, we have substantial first-hand experience with those at the end-stage of this disease.  As of today, 38% of Arcy’s patients have a primary diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease.  Another 7% have a primary diagnosis of some other type of dementia.  Alzheimer’s/Other Dementia is the second most common hospice diagnosis, exceeded only by cancer diagnoses.  We understand how dementia affects the individual and those providing the daily care.

Next Saturday, we will be reflecting on all those living with the disease today and all those we have lost over the years.  We gather together as a team to recognize the importance of knowledgeable, compassionate caregivers in the lives of those living with Alzheimer’s Disease.

If you’ve got an hour to give, please come walk with us.  Join our team or support us here, http://act.alz.org/goto/ardentsarmy.

We appreciate your support.
